Managing Risk on Complex Projects Minimize

Project risk management is crucial, yet frequently under-practiced. In this presentation,Steve Steele, PMP, will illustrate how he used project risk management tools to provide better care, increase efficiency, reduce/eliminate errors, and save lives while designing, building, and installing a standardized electronic medical record (EMR) system across Mayo Clinic Health System. The EMR was rolled out across 17 hospitals and 64 clinics, including 12,000 end users and 900 physicians from March 2009 through April 2011 with a major upgrade in October 2011. Two million daily transactions are expected by the end of 2011.

Attendees Will Learn:

  • The benefit of risk management
  • How to identify risks on a complex project
  • An overview of risk management tools and how to introduce them to team members
  • The five key steps to risk management
  • Risk management do’s and don’ts
  • How to integrate project lessons learned into future project risk analysis
