Enhancing Project Success: Vital Questions to Ask

Learning how to become a successful project manager requires learning the art of critical thinking. The art of critical thinking lies in the assumptions we make. The assumptions we make come from our frame of reference. Our frame of reference formulates how we view the world. Questions lie at the heart of critical thinking. A successful project manager asks vital questions seeking clarity, accuracy, depth and significance. Over the years, I developed a list of 12 questions to help me manage projects. I begin with question number one – What’s the objective of this project? I end with question number twelve – What lessons did we learn? The other ten questions focus on testing assumptions, implications and practical consequences.
